National Flood Celebrates its 20th Year!
LPS National Flood’s beginnings date back to 1988, starting as a small, manual flood determination company named National Flood Information Services (NFIS). The late 1980s are characterized as the flood determination industry’s infancy period, with each small firm developing independently and uniquely to create processes for supporting lender compliance with the Flood Disaster Protection Act of 1973 and later the National Flood Insurance Reform Act of 1994.
NFIS quickly emerged a leader in the industry, advancing technologically in the creation of proprietary flood determination systems and being part of three significant mergers in just a 10-year period. Continued focus on new technologies and incorporation of best practices from the merged organizations gave rise to FIS Flood Services in 2006, a premier provider of hazard identification and risk management solutions for lenders, insurance providers and appraisers.
As the organization celebrates its 20th year, LPS National Flood remains focused on key strategies for providing customers with the highest automated hit rates, fast turn times, impeccable accuracy and exceptional customer service. With a new name that is reminiscent of the original one, customers are assured that LPS National Flood will continue to lead the way through innovation, commitment to quality and dedication to the success of our clients and partners.
